This is the comment my colleague Rep. Lisa Brown made yesterday on the House floor speaking against HB 5711, a bill that would severely limit women’s access to basic health care and reproductive health centers.
Today, Rep. Brown was BANNED from speaking on the floor of the Michigan House of Representatives.

Yesterday, we stood up again to the Republicans’ extreme agenda and told the truth.
The Michigan House Republicans continue their attacks of:
- Taking away the rights of women to basic health care, privacy and access to reproductive health centers (HB 5711)
- Taking away legitimate voters’ rights to cast their ballots by making registering to vote and voting more difficult (SB 751, 754, 803, 823 and 824)
- Now they have gone so far as to BAN a Democratic member of the House from speaking on the floor and representing her constituents.
Whether you agree or disagree with HB 5711, it is clear to everyone –
